Update

My what a busy week! I am thrilled to report that I"M FREE!! What a great feeling. This last week of school was hectic, but not too bad as far as last weeks go. It was a week met with mixed emotions on my part. Not knowing if I will get a job made the last days a little wierd. I may slip away during the summer without proper goodbyes which made it a little bittersweet. I did host a little dinner party Thursday night for a few of my closest friends teacher friends just in case... which leads me to:

Job Search~ I have mailed packets but have not heard anything yet. There are a few more to be mailed Monday. I am trying to not worry about it. I figure it's all in the Lord's hands. Where HE wants me is where I'll be and that may happen now, or later. Who knows. I have a lot of people praying about the situation so I know that it will all work out the way it is supposed to.

This week has also been full of unbelievable news. For those who don't live around here, the Taylor tragedy that I wrote about 5 weeks ago has had a bizarre twist. Whitney Cerak which was the daughter of Sue's friend, is actually alive!! There was a misidentification between her and Laura Van Ryn who was thought to be the only surviving student. Laura's family have been caring for Whitney thinking she was their daughter all along. Just in the last week, Whitney has been really becoming more aware and has been communicating more. Things she said and did started to raise questions. So, while one family is grieving, the Ceraks have had a miracle. This also has been bittersweet. You feel almost guilty for being happy. The Van Ryns have kept a blog about Laura/Whitney's recovery from the beginning which is going to be a huge blessing to the Ceraks, but it is also touching lives world wide. These two families have shown an unshakeable faith in God through this whole ordeal. I have been blessed and moved to tears each time I read. Well, I am going to wrap this up. Sue and I just finished having a rummage sale so I'm pretty pooped. I see a day in the pool in my near future. Actually I see several days in the pool! :) I LOVE SUMMER!!

Love ya,
Kelley

Wow...Those families from Taylor are amazing in their faith. I can't imagine the different emotions they are having but they both seem to be relying on their faith. The only emotion I was thinking they would have would be anger for having to have gone though the whole thing but to see them transition from celebrating to mourning has been...WOW(I can't think of a good word for it). It makes anything I am going though seem so small. Thanks for sharing.

I second Kim's comment. Funny how tragedy makes everything else around you fade into unimportantness(is this a word? Nope.) I have found myself obsessed with reading their blog and even read all 500 and some odd comments. I really sense revival coming through this. I'm sure they wouldn't have chosen to be the vessels through which this is happening, but what a testament to their faith and our great God!

I agree with you Holly. At first I was so shocked I just couldn't get my mind around it. Then I was questioning "why God, would you let the Cerak's go through such grief of thinking their daughter was dead and let the Van Ryn's think their daughter had survived?"...then I read all the blogs and read the comments that were from the last update that the Van Ryn's posted about it not being their daughter they had been caring for. As I was reading I realized that God is going to use this whole turn of events to reach so many people. I couldn't believe the number of people from all over the world that were commenting. Many probably read scriptures for the first time on the Van Ryn's blog. What an amazing testimony that these two families have!! I don't know the Van Ryn's but they obviously are a wonderful Christian family. The Cerak's are also a wonderful Christian family. God is working through this situation!

It is a terrible thing for these families. Hard to imagine how you would cope with this horrible mistake. I read the blog and the final one posted. You could tell that they need the time to contemplate what all has happened.
We all need to pray for them as they look ahead and try to make sense of this situation.

Glad you made it through school and if you need any help with your resume or cover letter let me know I would be happy to help. God will open the door for you. Hope these first few weeks of freedom will be well spent.

Love Carolyn
