Weekend at Home

This was a great weekend at home. I hadn't been home in a while and the upcoming weekends are full of activities, so I made a trip home for the weekend. Sue got bribed into going to since I have very few miles left on my lease that's not up till December. Friday night we went up to the big Popcorn Festival (Marion is the Popcorn capital of the world - Not VanBuren). We saw a great country concert and ate some yummy food. Saturday, was a relaxed day with minimal running. We visited my grandparents and went to see a new house my dad just finished. That evening was the Big OHIO STATE game!!!! We were all pumped about the game and enjoyed watching them beat the TEXAS Longhorns. During the game, John, Kim and Carolyn (and kids) came to visit. John was home from Florida. It was so great to see him. Sunday, he sang in church and did a fantastic job. I was listening wandering why he isn't in the Gaither Vocal Band. I took some family pictures on Sunday to share. Hope you enjoy them.

So is singing some kind of genetic thing? Your whole family can sing - I wish I could sing. If I was part of your family I would be able to sing. I feel like part of your family through the blog world. Maybe I can sing now and I just don't know it. Nope, I just tried, I can't. Guess I'm not really part of your family. That's probably good, because I'm really not an Ohio State fan - Hoosiers all the way!!! Glad to know you are a Colts fan (though the Bengals are pretty good, too.)

Also want to add, whose house were the pictures taken in? Your family also has a real knack for decorating - I love the room where you and Andrea had your picture taken in front of the fireplace - at least the little part I could make out. And you know I think your house is awesome. Just another "grate" gene that I wish I had.

Looks like a "grate" time (I know, a cheesy joke). We missed having you at the big race, but can fill you in on Thursday.

Also, you look really nice in the pics: hair, make up, etc... :o)

OK! I don't usually post here because I basicaly just stalk your blog for more pics of the kids, but I HAVE to say. ALL I kept thinking looking at all the pictures was WHY do you look so pretty!? I mean when I have "down time," do nothing , but relax time, I look like I should be holding a cup on a corner somewhere and you look beautiful. You cheated! That's not TRUE "down time!" Hee hee Amanda

Deb I giggled out loud when I read your response, I could visualize you standing in the middle of your living room prepared to sing a song like an angel but out came a frog. The whole picture was enough to make me laugh. Could be I am just too blame tired to walk to my room. I was trying to see if my office chair would fit through the doorway of my kitchen and just give myself a push.
But on a serious note John, Kim an Kelly could take their act on the rode. Even the names lend themselves to be a group. But I may be prejudice but I think he did a great job on that song. It has been a sad time for the family but as always humor is helping to ease the pain.

Love ya

enjoyed seeing you and Sue.

Deb- I guess I'm just blessed with good genes. Although, I've heard you sing and it's definitly not bad. You were kicking butt with the karaoke game. The pictures were taken in my mom and dad's family room. It is a beautiful room and I definitly get my knack for decorating from my mom.

Amanda- Thanks!! :) I went around the house singing "I Feel Pretty" after I read your comment. Ha! When you've got a sister as beautiful as Andrea, it keeps you on your toes! :)

Man am I ever slow on the uptake. A day late and a dollar short.. Sure looks like you guys had a blast. Now that I see the pics, I feel even worse about missing out on all the fun. I will reinstate again how much I love mom and dad's in the fall..... I also totally second Amanda' s comment, you look like a million bucks! (Deb- you really a hilarious!)
